Avoid A Dental Emergency: Schedule Your Next Dental Checkup
When was the last time we saw you in the office for an oral hygiene examination and cleaning? If it has been longer than six months, then you are due for a visit. If you have been meaning to schedule your next visit but are always too busy, now is a great time to call our office before the hustle and bustle of the holiday season arrives. It will be here before you know it! Receiving routine medical care is important to ensure you do not experience a dental or medical emergency. Read on to learn more.
Why Are Oral Hygiene Examinations Necessary?
We know that life gets busy, and scheduling your dental visits may get pushed to the back of your mind. We encourage you to schedule your next appointment today, as you are reading this email! Even if you feel that you have excellent oral hygiene and don’t think you need an appointment, we are here to tell you that you do.
During routine examinations, we do more than just thoroughly clean your teeth. We check for signs of common conditions such as gum disease and oral cancer. We look over your X-rays to see if there are any problem areas in your mouth that either need immediate treatment or need to be monitored carefully for future developments. Even patients who clean their teeth thoroughly experience dental problems they weren’t expecting. When you skip or postpone your routine appointments, you increase your chances of experiencing a dental emergency.
Now is the Perfect Time to Visit
Although September has just arrived, the hustle and bustle of the holiday season will be here before you know it! We would hate for you to experience a complication with your oral health during the holidays and need treatment you weren’t expecting. We typically recommend that our patients visit our office every 4-6 months for an oral hygiene examination and cleaning. Certain patients may require visits more often due to a diagnosed condition, such as gum disease.
If you are unsure when we saw you for your last appointment or you are looking to schedule your next visit, be sure to contact my office, which is located in Watsonville, CA. I look forward to seeing you soon!
