Creating a Treatment Solution
A perfect example of finding the optimal treatment solution is the patient featured in the images above. She was treated by Dr. Jaquery. She had a porcelain bridge that broke and failed due to a condition known as bruxism. If you are unfamiliar, bruxism is a serious condition in which someone clenches and grinds their teeth. This behavior typically happens at night, so those suffering are usually unaware. Patients who clench and grind their teeth are prone to extreme sensitivity and, eventually, broken and cracked teeth. This patient already had a bridge as a tooth replacement, which ended up breaking. She needed a different solution, so Dr. Jaquery used a gold mixture because it won’t fracture in the same way porcelain will. The combination of gold and porcelain is not only aesthetically pleasing, but it also maximizes function to allow for longevity. To further help protect the teeth, the patient will now be using a guard to help protect the teeth at night. Be sure to look at the before and after pictures to see the successful results.
